People rarely give their best to an organization they do not believe in – that’s why internal communicators play a key role in keeping employees engaged and invested in their company. Whether good or bad news, employees appreciate transparent and timely communication. Effective employee communication is important on all levels, from headquarters to those in the field. Although communication is a simple concept, implementation can be challenging.

How do you know if your employee communications strategy is effective? Some of our largest customers, which include 40% of the Fortune 100, have conducted studies to understand the impact of the Firstup platform on their overall employee communications. And the results are quite telling: almost three quarters of Firstup users in this study agree the platform is a valuable way to stay informed at work.

In this case study our customer found that frequent users of Firstup have higher levels of satisfaction with their company communications, which makes the platform a valuable asset for internal communication leaders. While 71% of respondents are satisfied with overall company communications, that number jumps to 83% for weekly users of their Firstup platform. Having a communication platform that is easily accessible and provides employees with relevant information is part of the success of the program. A personalized and enjoyable user experience is what keeps employees coming back.

In this study, our customer learned that their program, powered by Firstup, is a primary sources of daily news for employees. In the following chart, it’s evident that less than a year since launch, their Firstup program became the third most common source of daily news – after email and intranet. As the program gains more adoption over time, we expect it to grow as the primary source. Today’s news is often gathered from our mobile devices and can be accessed any time of the day, and employee communications need to be just as timely and accessible.
